Practical skills for living and recreating in bear country.
Join Okanogan Land Trust for an evening of practical bear safety presented by wildlife biologist Kristin Botzet of Defenders of Wildlife. Kristin will cover bear biology and behavior, black bear and grizzly bear identification, ways to reduce human-bear conflicts, and what to do if you encounter a bear.
To ensure there are enough training canisters for all participants, registration is required.
Hands-On Bear Spray Practice
The program will wrap up with hands-on bear spray practice. Participants will have the opportunity to deploy inert training spray at a moving bear model and practice how to use bear spray in a safe setting.
